About the work

Clock-sung Lullaby features amplified and prepared harpsichord alongside mixed percussion. The harpsichord is prepared so that one layer of strings is muted, allowing amplification to reveal the instrument's internal mechanism—a normally hidden sonic world.

Paired with drums, chains, woodblocks, and crotales, the work evokes the image of an entropic clock whose machinery gradually unfolds through shifting layers of resonance, rhythm, and metallic colour.

Amplified and prepared harpsichord reveals the hidden mechanics of the instrument, evoking the image of an entropic clock.
