About the work
Banned... unbound is a work for guitar duet. Bound together by time-band durations, the two guitars exchange frantic gestures built from dense chords, rapid lines, and tapping on the fingerboard.
These percussive actions produce a delicate string resonance that contrasts with the work’s more forceful and hurried material. The two performers move between independence and close coordination, passing gestures back and forth within the flexible temporal structure.
Frantic gestures pass between the two guitars, moving between thick chords, rapid lines, and delicate fingerboard resonance.
