About the work
a moment like this..? was composed during the first composition academy at Kalv Festivalen in 2018. Over the course of a week, eight composers from around the world worked with composition mentors Pierluigi Billone and Per Mårtensson, alongside the ensemble Norrbotten NEO, in the rural village of Kalv, Sweden.
The academy functioned as an intensive period of rehearsal, discussion, and collaborative development leading into the festival. The participating composers’ works were presented across two concerts alongside music by the two composition mentors.
The work was written for bass flute, percussion, piano, and violoncello, and was premiered by Norrbotten NEO at Kalvs Kyrka.
